Just five more minutes…

I have a confession – I have a snooze bar addiction.  As much as I joke about “giving up sleep when I Incorporated” the truth is I absolutely love sleep, and I am certainly NOT easy to get out of bed in the morning. I have a love/hate relationship with my alarm – which is located clear across the room from me, in the attempt to make me wake up easier when I have to walk across the room to turn it off.  But there is still no greater feeling than snuggling back into my warm covers for just “five more minutes.”
The problem with this little known addiction of mine is that it often leaves me feeling very rushed in the mornings to then get both girls up and ready for school in time, making my morning way more stressful than it needs to be. It also sets the tone for a difficult day for myself, and my girls. Starting the day off rushed, scrambling around to get out of the house, etc is not a good way to start a day that should be “on purpose” to my goals. The bottom line – my Snooze Bar is NOT my friend.
So as I am working on my goals for 2010, I have decided to give up this relationship with my Snooze Bar, and challenge myself to NO MORE SNOOZING! I am also making the commitment to wake up with enough time to workout for 30 minutes before my regularly scheduled day begins. Â This is actually combining two goals – breaking my snooze habit as well as lose weight and get healthier.
Do you have a Snooze Bar addiction?
Would you like to take the Snooze Bar Challenge with me?

I had to move my clock away from my bed so that I actually have to get out of bed to turn it off… it works!

I have such a love hate relationship with the snooze bar!

You don’t have a snooze bar on a toddler unfortunately. My kids are my alarm clock. They wake between 5-6am every morning.

The day I decided to stop snoozing was a good day. I used to do an hour and a half of snooze. Finally I just let myself sleep an extra 1 1/2 hours and WOW I felt better!

I hit snooze all the time….in fact, I have been known to let my kids wake me up…..it is bad. I really want to start getting up early and getting ahead of my day before it gets ahead of me

YES — I loooooove sleeping; it is, hands down, my favorite thing. When I was still working, that darn snooze button got me in trouble All. The. Time!

I love the snooze button, although I haven’t had the chance to use it in 15 months- my daughter takes care of that for me! LOL

OH I have this problem too! My husband set my alarm for me one day and left early for work. He then called me and even though my phone was in another room I STILL ignored it. I hate waking up….I stay up too late blogging LOL

I actually rarely use the snooze bar. But don’t think that means I don’t want to!

I have a snooze button on my blackberry, I’ve learned to fight the snooze to make it go off every minute!!! So far I’ve combatted the snooze button problem!!!

I used to have a snooze button addiction and to combat it, I used to set the actual time on my clock to something like 27 minutes ahead of real time. My snooze button went off at 9 minute intervals. So, when the alarm would go off, I’d get to hit the snooze button three times and still wake up on time.
Totally ridiculous but it worked – it was a mental thing.
