(Mostly) Wordless Wednesday – February 24, 2010

Today’s Wordless Wednesday is an image from TheOatmeal.com – a funny comic site that has everything from the “10 Things You Should Stop Tweeting About” to “The Ten Types of Crappy Interviewees.”  The artists behind The Oatmeal do a great job of using comics to stress very important, REAL issues going on today.

Today’s post is an image from “10 Words You Need To Stop Misspelling” – my favorite ‘toon of the bunch! It is all in good fun, but it is still SUCH an important issue – especially for those of us running a business.

So often I see “Your Welcome” as a response to “Thank you” – and actually I saw it today, posted by a colleague of mine, which is in part what made me think of this image for WW.  So this is my Business PSA of the day – ladies, beware! HA!

Check out the entire post, and tell me which words you commonly misspell!

My pet peeve is the “lose” and “loose” … I can’t tell you how many times I see those used incorrectly and every time it’s like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I think I’m an OK speller thanks to spell check but where I always get stumped is determining whether a word is one word or two … like chalkboard. I had to google it to be sure *hangs head in shame*

Sometimes when I am trying to get a thought out really fast I will use the wrong spellings. I know the correct usage of them all though. I try to read everything twice before publishing. I usually transpose letters more than anything though.
