Eat, Pray, Love

I remember a few months ago seeing the trailer for Eat, Pray, Love at one of the movies Mike and I went to see, and immediately thinking “I have GOT to go see that.” I had not read the book – didn’t even know the book existed, but when I Tweeted about it, many of my friends came back with what a terrific story it was. I marked the Opening Day in my calendar, and made sure not to book a party for that night.

You got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em
Know when to walk away and know when to run
You never count your money when you’re sittin’ at the table
There’ll be time enough for countin’ when the dealing’s done.

Ok, so here we are at the end of day three. Frankly, I think this ranks right up there with some of my dumbest ideas.

Cabbage Soup Diet Day Two… Piece of Cake…Err… Cabbage

Let me begin my saying that this diet tests your will more than anything else. Yesterday was a true test in commitment and discipline. There were several times yesterday that I wanted to throw my hands up and say “forget it” and make myself comfortably at home at Red Robin. (all together… YYUUMMMM) However, TODAY was a totally different story.

You may remember a few months ago when I did the “Shrinking Jeans” Challenge from Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans. Well, last week I received an email about their newest challenge – The Down and Dirty 30 Day Challenge. Because it was so close to my “30 by 30″ Challenge I posed to myself (yes, failed, I know) I decided to jump right in!

Cabbage Soup Diet Day #1

Last night I stayed up late concocting cooking a large pot of Cabbage Soup. Looking (and feeling) much like a witch creating her brew, I happily chopped and sliced and diced all kinds of yummy veggies into one great big pot. The diet is pretty simple – cabbage, celery, carrots, onions, and mushrooms along with some spices and tomato juice – and thankfully I like all of the ingredients involved, so I figured this was going to be a “piece of cake” – well… cabbage.

A few weeks ago a couple Blogger friends of mine did the Cabbage Soup Diet to test it out and kind of give a “jump start” to their weightloss efforts. Trisha from MomDot has never really struggled with her weight but wanted to take off a few pounds, and Kim from Accidental Mommies has been a real inspiration with her weightloss over the 6 months or so that I have known her. They both managed to get through an entire week – both a little bit “lighter” because of it.
