It is a proven fact that smells provoke past memories. A smell can bring on a flood of memories, influence people’s moods and even affect their work performance. I can still remember the distinct smell of Original Jergens Lotion – the only “scent” my late grandmother ever wore.
In 1993 Melissa Bartholomew, then a Mother of two, was looking for a way to make money to help her family, and always loved how a candle could warm a home, instantly life your mood, and “transport you back to your Grandmother’s kitchen, or your favorite Thanksgiving.” She began researching everything she could about candle making and mixing ingredients to make the “perfect candle.” When she finally discovered the perfect combination of a long burning candle with a long lasting scent, Candleworks was born.
Since then Melissa has grown from selling to a few friends and neighbors to working with churches, daycares, and other community organizations for huge fundraisers, and more recently Melissa has decided to expand into the Party Plan Industry – bringing Candleworks to you through in home parties.
Candleworks offers a wide range of fragrances for their candles, soy candles, scent blocks, scent squares. My favorite of the ones I have tried so far is the Pink Tides Soy Candle. I have had it burning in my office and I absolutely love how it smells. Plus with the dreary weather of the last few weeks, I have enjoyed having an actual LIT candle going next to me, especially in the evenings.
If you are looking for a ground basement floor opportunity or just for an amazingly long lasting burning candle, Candleworks is perfect. You can check out everything Melissa has to offer on her website – www.BuyCandleWorks.com.
